Whitby man is $100,000 richer thanks to playing Encore

A Whitby man’s choice to play Encore paid off last month.

Owen Birchall of Whitby won $100,000 in the July 20 LOTTO 6/49 draw, OLG announced in a press release on Aug. 18.

Birchall said yes to Encore when buying his ticket and he matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in the exact order.

Encore can be played in conjunction with most OLG lottery games for an extra $1. There is an Encore draw everyday.

Birchall’s winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Carnwith Drive in Whitby.
