Whitby traffic stop leads to firearms, drug charges

Police say two Durham Region men are facing 18 weapons and drug-related charges after a traffic stop in Whitby Monday night.
Durham Police made the arrests on Champlain Avenue near Stellar Drive after allegedly finding a loaded gun, a quantity of cocaine and two bottles of Hydrocodone.
Police also say that officers discovered the driver of the vehicle had a warrant out for his arrest.
Kion Knight-Forde, 23, of Whitby and Uriah Edusei-Needham, 22, of Pickering face a combined 18 charges, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a loaded restricted/prohibited firearm and more.
They were both held for a bail hearing.
