Whitby’s Station Gallery didn’t have to look far to find their next Executive Director.

The Station Gallery Board of Directors have chosen Natasha Downes, who has been Director of Operations since 2016, to the position.

Downes replaces outgoing Executive Director Kerri King.

“Natasha’s appointment to this strategic position is an investment in the future of the gallery, and a win for the entire arts community in Whitby,” said Station Gallery Board Chair Dr. Leanne Foster. “Natasha has shown exemplary leadership in recent years as Director of Operations and I congratulate her on this next step.”

As Downes moves into her new role she will develop and implement the strategic vision of Station Gallery.

“I’m excited and honoured to start this new chapter at Station Gallery as Executive Director,” she said. “It’s been a privilege to serve the gallery for the last five years and I look forward to working with the Board, Town of Whitby, volunteers, artists and donors to elevate the arts and culture scene here in Durham Region.”
