Windshield wiper-brandishing robber arrested in Whitby

Durham Police have made an arrest in a gas station robbery in Whitby from last night.

Central West Division officers were called to the Petro Canada gas station on Paisley Court just before seven pm Tuesday evening for a robbery. The suspect entered the store and made a demand for cash while brandishing a windshield wiper. The suspect took cash and fled on foot.

The victim didn’t receive any physical injuries. Officers searched the area and located the suspect at a nearby motel.

Josiah Malcolm, 25 of No Fixed Address is charged with Robbery, Weapons Dangerous and Disguise with Intent.He was held for a bail hearing.
