Beaverton woman charged after Canada Day crash kills three in Brock Township

A woman has been charged after a lengthy investigation into a head-on crash in Brock Township last July that killed three people and injured two others.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Canada Day, two cars collided head-on near Lakeridge Road and Concession #4, about five kilometres north of Uxbridge.

First responders arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced three dead at the scene. Two others suffered serious injuries and were rushed to a Toronto hospital.

Nearly six months later, on January 16, 2023, Durham Regional police announced they had charged a driver in connection to the crash.

Brittany Russell-Rees, 32 of Beaverton, is charged with three counts of careless driving causing death and careless driving causing bodily harm. Russell-Rees was released from custody with conditions.

Police have not shared details about the circumstances of the crash or shared the identities of the victims.
