SUV crashes into house in Oshawa

UPDATE: Police have verified that a 37-year-old woman was the lone driver who crashed an SUV into a house in Oshawa. The driver has since died.

Occupants inside the home were unharmed.

No other information is available at this time.


A collision between a vehicle and a house happened early this morning in Oshawa.

Durham Regional Police are investigating a serious crash that took place at 4:30 a.m. near Glenbourne Court and Grandview Street.

Authorities have not disclosed the driver’s condition or whether their injuries are life-threatening. Additionally, information on the driver, including their name, age and place of residence, has not been made public.

It is also unknown how many passengers (if any) were in the vehicle or if they sustained any injuries.

Officials have not indicated if anyone in the house was injured at the time of the accident.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and authorities have not yet provided details on the extent of the damage to the house.

Aftermath photos posted by X user ColinWxchaser show the vehicle struck the side of the house, tearing off one of its doors. The vehicle also appears to have damaged part of the fence and a bush, stopping just inches from the main entryway of the house.

Police have closed off roadways from Roseheath Street and Taunton Road for further investigation.
