Woman dead, man in police custody following ‘possible collision’ in Pickering

A woman is dead and a man is in custody after what police described as a “possible collision” early Sunday morning in Pickering.

Durham Regional Police responded to reports of a crash near Foxwood Trail and Weyburn Square at around 5 a.m.

Police have not clarified why the incident is being referred to as a “possible collision” and whether it involved a vehicle, nor have they provided additional details about its nature.

Officials say a woman was found at the scene with significant injuries and was transported to a Toronto-area hospital, where she later died.
