A search is underway for a man after a woman was found dead in her Oshawa home.
According to Durham Police, officers discovered the woman in the Rideau Street and Saguenay Avenue house around 7 a.m. They had been called to perform a wellness check and found the woman dead when they entered the home.
The home sits just northwest of the Bond Street and Park Road intersection downtown in an area full of mid-sized apartment buildings.
Investigators say they have been unable to find Lal Kannampuzha Poulose, 31, a man associated with the home and the victim. They describe Kannampuzha Poulose as a five-foot-eight brown man with an average build.
Police believe he’s driving a blue Ford Escape with the licence plate CXKZ-784. They did not confirm if Kannampuzha Poulose is a suspect. They “have concerns” for him.
However, the woman’s death is under investigation as a homicide.
“If you see the vehicle or male, please do not approach, and immediately contact 911,” police wrote. Anyone with information can call police at 1-888-579-1520 ext. or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
