Woman killed on GO Train tracks near Ajax

A woman was killed on the GO train tracks just east of Ajax Thursday late afternoon.
Metrolinx officials say the woman has not been identified and deferred details on the incident to Durham Regional Police, who have yet to respond. A Metrolinx spokesman said their thoughts go out to the family of the victim and issued a reminder about exercising extreme caution around the train tracks.
GO busses were sent back and forth to the Oshawa GO station to pick up passengers on their way to last night’s Toronto Maple Leafs game, though those who could drive were encouraged to drive to the Pickering GO station and take the train into Union Station from there.
The incident happened around 5 p.m.
