Woman posed as PSW to steal from senior’s residence in Oshawa, police claim

Investigators allege a woman posed as a personal support worker (PSW) in order to break into a senior’s residence in Oshawa.

The woman allegedly went to a senior’s home near Wilson Rd. N. and Attersley Dr. on Sept. 5. She reportedly snuck into an apartment and stole cash. When confronted the woman claimed she was a PSW and had entered the wrong apartment. She fled before producing any identifying documents.

Witnesses called Durham Regional Police who launched an investigation. They identified a suspect and have linked her to other such incidents.

Angela Hannah, 47 of Trenton, is charged with four counts of break and enter and eight counts of breaching probation. She has been held in custody until a bail hearing.
