Woman seriously hurt in Oshawa car crash

A woman has been seriously injured in a two-car collision in Oshawa.
The woman, age 75, was a passenger in a Green Chevrolet Monte Carlo travelling west on Columbus Rd. shortly after 7 p.m. on July 5. As the Monte Carlo made its way, an eastbound Dodge Caravan drifted into its path causing as head-on collision, Durham Regional Police said.
First responders soon arrived at the scene in near Simcoe St. in north Oshawa. They found the woman suffering serious, but not life-threatening wounds. The Monte Carlo driver sustained minor injuries. Police did not describe them.
The Caravan driver, also not described, remained on scene and helped investigators. They have not been charged with any crime. The Collision Investigation Unit closed down the busy intersection for several hours to investigate.
