Woman shot in Pickering townhouse complex

A woman is in hospital after she was shot inside a Pickering townhouse.

Durham Regional Police got reports of shots fired at the townhouse complex at 1580 Kingston Rd. shortly before 11 p.m. on Oct. 12. The 115-townhouse complex is owned by the Durham Region Non-Profit Housing Corporation.

When first responders arrived, they found a woman suffering a single gunshot wound. Paramedics rushed her to a Toronto trauma centre in non-life-threatening condition.

Police provided no information about possible suspects. They have urged any witnesses to the shooting to come forward, particularly any who may have cell phone or security camera footage of the area.
