Youths, 12 and 13, charged in Oshawa stabbing

Two kids have been charged following a stabbing and attempted robbery in Oshawa.

Shortly before 1 p.m. on Feb. 27 a man, 27, was walking near John St. and Centre St. South in downtown Oshawa. According to Durham Regional Police, two people approached the man and snatched away his cell phone. When he tried to get his phone back, one of the pair stabbed him, police allege, then fled the scene.

The two suspects were arrested a short distance from the scene. The first, 13 of Oshawa, is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and three counts of failing to comply with a previous sentence.

The second, 12 of Oshawa, is charged with robbery, possession of a weapon and two counts of failing to comply with a previous sentence.
