A woman and 2 men shot in Bowmanville, Ontario

A woman and two men are on the road to recovery after being shot this morning in Bowmanville.

Durham Regional Police responded to reports of someone being shot in the area of Concession Street East and Mearns Avenue around 12 a.m.

Officials have not specified whether the incident took place inside a house or outdoors.

Officers say that after arriving on the scene, they located a 25-year-old man, a 25-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man—all suffering from gunshot wounds.

Two of the victims were taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre, and the third was transported to a local hospital.

Fortunately, all injuries are considered to be non-life threatening, police say.

Authorities have not released additional information on the victims, including their places of residence.

Investigations are ongoing, and the circumstances leading up to the shooting, including whether it was targeted or if the suspect(s) were known to the victims, have not been confirmed by police.

Suspect descriptions and surveillance images are unavailable at this time.

Members of the Criminal Investigations Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene and are leading the investigation.
